The Washington Multi-Family Housing Association’s Holiday Giving Gala charity event was a success raising $17,298.00 for Childhaven.
Over 100 people from the multifamily housing industry attended this gala at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Bellevue. Guests were greeted with songs from the Bellevue Girl Choir, including a rousing rendition of the U.S. Marine Corp Hymn as two Marines entered the room to collect boxes overflowing with donated unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. AFB proudly sponsored this event in support of these amazing foundations that have such a positive impact on children in need today.
IREM held their Inaugural Gala & Awards Dinner at Salty’s on Alki Beach. It was a beautiful view of Seattle’s night skyline as the 2015 council members were celebrated for their year of service and commitment. It was also a time for the 2016 council members to be welcomed into office. AFB proudly sponsored this event in support of IREM’s continuing educational programs, professional ethics and business practices.
The Washington Multi-Family Housing Association raised $16,915.11 for the Domestic Abuse Women’s Network at the 9th annual Chili Cook-Off charity event. DAWN provides transitional housing and resources to women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. These proceeds will be used to fund furniture and equipment for DAWN’s recently remodeled shelter facility.
Over 400 people from the multifamily housing industry and the local community attended the Chili Cook-Off at the Tukwila Community Center. AFB sponsored the Kids Zone, providing kids crafts, pumpkin decorating, balloons and plenty of candy for all trick-or-treating kids in their Halloween costumes. There was entertainment from the Seattle Seahawk’s Blue Thunder Drum Corp. and Seattle Seahawks team mascot BOOM, as well as a visit from the Seahawk’s cheerleaders Myriah and Kaela. It was an outstanding event that brought the community together for a great cause.
